The Materials & Engineering Research Institute (MERI) is a large and research active business within Sheffield Hallam University. Based at City Campus, its excellent research outputs in areas such as materials modelling, multi-layer nanoscale PVD coatings and clay nanocomposite materials have gained it an RAE rating of 5 in the most recent assessment. MERI also excels in generating income through consultancy activities including failure analysis, quality control and new product development. Our clients include many national and international companies from the automotive, medical and aerospace sectors, but also include many SMEs from the Yorkshire and Humberside region.
